Mirski Gallery opens on Newbury Street.

Operated by Boris Mirski, it is the most recent in a series of galleries, including a gallery/frame shop on Charles Street, and finally moves to 166 Newbury Street in 1944. Mirski shows the work of many Boston and New England artists, including David Aronson, Hyman Bloom, Bernard Chaet, Jack Levine, Arthur Polonsky, and Barbara Swan. The gallery closes in 1979.
